The Dark Knight Rises' Batman & Bane Covers Unveiled

What the *Batman* is that? Empire has been running a viral voting game the last few days asking fans to choose which cover of their new issue gets unveiled first - Batman or Bane. The covers are for The Dark Knight Rises and are Empire's "world's first" TDKR mag covers. Once enough votes were cast (about 160K on Saturday), the Bane cover was revealed. It looks badass, nothing we haven't seen before, but I'm more intrigued by Batman—what the heck is he holding, some newfangled UV Bat-binoculars, perhaps? You can see the Bane cover in full below and most of what's revealed of the Batman cover so far, too. Bah-Sah-Rah!
Click on either image to jump to Empire where the reveal took place. I prefer the Bane one - he just looks so badass! Tom Hardy is going to steal the show playing Bane. Any idea what that new gadget is Batman has?

Check Out This Fantastic Japanese Poster for Reitman's 'Young Adult'

This is what I'm talking about! I haven't much liked the official posters, even this one, for Jason Reitman's new film Young Adult, starring Charlize Theron (trailer) as a bitchy young adult novel writer who goes back to her hometown to find her high school sweetheart. The latest one released was just pitiful, so bad I didn't even want to post it, but now we've got something to redeem it. Found by IMPAwards is a Japanese poster for the film, and I love the design. Visually eye-catching, unique, captures the different shades of the character, this is the kind of poster I've wanted to see! Even better than those artistic posters. Check it out!
Young Adult Japanese Poster
Academy Award winner Charlize Theron plays Mavis Gary, a writer of YA teen literature who returns to her small hometown to relive her glory days and attempt to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms a bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt) who hasn't quite gotten over high school, either. Written by Oscar winner Diablo Cody, directed by Oscar nominee Jason Reitman. Watch the first official trailer here. Paramount is bringing Young Adult to theaters starting on December 9th limited, wide the 16th, this fall. Thoughts?

Nikon D800 pictures leak

Nikon D800 pictures leak, specs still sketchy . Cameras, DSLR cameras, Nikon, Nikon D700, Nikon D800 1

The Nikon D800 is on the horizon if pictures emerging on the Internet are to be believed. The front and rear images, albeit with names and numbers obscured, claim to be of the new Nikon D800.
Nikon D800 pictures leak, specs still sketchy . Cameras, DSLR cameras, Nikon, Nikon D700, Nikon D800 3
The Nikon D800 looks like an update or replacement for the Nikon D700, which was launched way back in 2008. Camera manufacturers being creatures of habit, there is a compelling reason to think these are legitimate. The Nikon D700 is an FX model, full frame, sitting on the professional side of Nikon's DSLR offering.

The rumoured specs for the new Nikon D800 include a 36-megapixel sensor giving you images up to 3760 x 4912 pixels. Also on the rumour list is the Expeed 3 processor, as recently seen in Nikon's new Nikon 1 cameras.
The camera is pictured with a battery grip which would be an accessory (unlike the integrated approach on the D3 models), so it's suggested that the Nikon D800 will be smaller and lighter than the D700, which would follow the trend of other recent DSLR updates.
The rear display is listed simply as larger than 3-inches and the viewfinder to give you 100% field of view, along with the combination of CF and SD card slots.
Video is highlighted, claiming to be "better than the D3s", with a range of Full HD capture modes and formats.
We don't have a date for the launch of the new Nikon D800 camera, but Nikon are going to have to move fast if this is going to be a 2011 release. Previous rumours suggested a price range of around £2400, which fits with the D700's original launch price.

Porsche Releases First Action Video of New Panamera GTS

According to Porsche's own words, the sportiest model in the Panamera series is not the Turbo or the Turbo S as some of you may have thought, but he LA Auto Show-launched GTS, which the company claims, “is capable of cutting it on the circuit without sacrificing practicality”.
To prove its point, Porsche released a video of four test drivers, complete with racing overalls and helmets (and a Right Stuff-like shot) shoehorning themselves in the 430HP, all-wheel drive, PDK-equipped Panamera GTS and driving around the track.
Whether you like its looks or not, the Panamera GTS promises to be a true-blue sports saloon. You can check out in action in the video after the jump.

First Lexus LFA Public hits the Road Atlanta Track

The Lexus LFA has caused quite a stir among supercar aficionados. Despite its lack of pedigree that rivals sports cars from Ferrari and Lamborghini can lay claim to, it’s an incredible machine.
Then again, with a carbon fiber chassis, exotic looks and a high-revving V10 that produces 552HP with all the right sounds, that’s to be expected.
The first-ever LFA delivered to a customer is chassis No# 003 – the first two production models were allegedly given to company insiders. The owner of the car, Roy, lives in the U.S. and according to Forged Performance, which has also prepared a Nissan GT-R for him, he likes to actually drive his cars instead of keeping them locked up in a garage and admiring them.
Luckily, Roy decided to take his brand-new LFA to the Road Atlanta race track to find out if it lives up to its promise. See how it went down in the video below.

From 0 to Crash in 18 Seconds: Subaru Impreza STI

Imagine this: you're all suited up, complete with racing helmet, gloves and shoes, bolted in the racing bucket seat of a Subaru Impreza WRX STI with your buddy by your side to experience the thrill of a life time on the race track.

But alas; as soon as the flag goes down your STI stalls and the engine shuts off. Your friend chuckles but no worries, just turn the key and fire up the turbocharged flat four and let's take it from the start.
Okay, we're ready now and yes, 18 seconds later you've reached the final cone and you can unleash the awesome power of Subaru's boxer engine only to…crash into a wall! On the bright side, you may have just set a new track record for the fastest crash ever…
But for those that love a good ending, a couple of months later, our Japanese protagonist got his web redemption (that's what you get from watching too much Tosh.0) by returning to the circuit and completing several laps without a hitch.
