In October, General Motors dropped a shadowy rendering of its new Chevrolet Trailblazer midsize SUV along with an announcement that it will enter production for global markets beginning with Thailand in early 2012.
In a similar fashion to the pre-production concept of the new Chevy Colorado midsize pickup truck upon which the Trailblazer is based, there are only a few elements that are purely show material such as the lights, bumper and alloy wheel designs along with certain trim pieces inside.
Being based on the new Colorado means that the Trailblazer features a conventional body-on-frame structure offering more off-road and towing capabilities but reduced on-road ride comfort and handling.
We're still short on the rest of the details, but expect a similar engine lineup, perhaps with the addition of one or more gasoline units, as the Colorado.
General Motors has not said if it will offer the upcoming 2013 Trailblazer in the States, but being that the new Colorado will be manufactured and sold in the U.S., there's a very good chance that we'll see its SUV variant as well.
